Susan Morningstern Nelson - JD, MA, OTR/L - Occupational Therapist

Susan grew up in central New Jersey. Since relocating to California for graduate school in 1997, she has called LA, Orange County, San Francisco, and Ithaca home while attending school and work. Susan earned a Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University where she studied Exercise Physiology and she earned a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy with highest honors from the University of Southern California, which is consistently ranked as one of the top occupational therapy programs in the country. Susan also graduated from Cornell University Law School and is a licensed attorney in California.

Susan's occupational therapy practice focuses on treating pediatric and geriatric populations in clinic, school, home, community college, and medical settings. She has had extensive training and experience, and has provided trainings and seminars as well, in areas of sensory integration, assistive technology, and environmental adaptions for increasing a client's access to their work, school, and home environments. Her passion for helping others has inspired her to use her knowledge of movement analysis and sensory systems, as well as her vision of optimal health and access, to improve her client's quality of life and independence throughout the course of treatment and thereafter.

As an individual who had spinal surgery as a teenager but who still loves snow and water skiing, SCUBA diving, running, and being active outdoors, Susan understands the impact of injury and the challenge of regaining the skills and strength to get back to the life and activities a person loves. Her personal knowledge of serious physical injury and disability provides an empathic basis for understanding her clients and their experience of loss and the road to recovery.
